Day 4: Still here, still standing
It’s taken several decades but I think I have a clearer understanding of why I am and for who I am! Profound hey? Apart from ‘knowing’ this in light of a faith perspective, I could genuinely never ‘get’ why I was the kind of person that I was. Youch! Slightly off the beaten track, slightly to the left or right of centre, slightly different to the herd, slightly not on everyone else’s page! But that is actually, now, totally ok! So, for the ‘why’ I am... An absolute complexity of factors explain the ‘why’. It’s too damn easy just to say “I was born this way”, because you then tend to overlook so much more of what is both real and shape defining. Sure, there’s the inherited gene factors, and personal character traits and personality types...but there is still more... How about the incidents and accidents that shape? Choices made or disregarded? How about people who either love or inflict? How about creative complexity? How about some of the simply unexplainable? ...
