Day 2: Not Quite Shakespeare
Penned a piece of ‘quickie poetry’ whilst trawling along, reflecting on the absurdity of human behaviour in one of the most beautiful of settings...the beach!
If you go to the beach
In these craziest of times,
You’ll encounter a study
Of the human mind.
Place of beauty
Was the Sea,
Is now overrun
By anxiety.
For people no longer stop,
Nod, talk;
Onward, upward
They must walk.
No smiles, no ‘hi’s’
Just fervent, restless
Watching eyes.
Keep your distance,
Two meters apart,
Not just bodies
But also hearts.
People are odd
At the best of times,
For me?
I can’t wait
For more sunshine!
